Joyful and Strong Are We of Integrity…

Who needs integrity? We all do! Society boasts the necessity of integrity for politicians, CEO’s, clergy, teachers and doctors since we are dependent upon them for elements of our well-being and livelihood. However, we are not exempt from integrity. We have loved ones relying on us to be the same people in private as we are in public.

Who are we when no one else is looking? That’s integrity!

Are we just as industrious, helpful, agreeable and accommodating at home as we are at work when we are eagerly trying to impress the boss or our coworkers?

That’s integrity!

Are we just as courteous, supportive, loving and patient with our words at home as we are when we are speaking over the audience at church or at the PTA meeting?

That’s integrity!

Are we just as altruistic with our time, energy and efforts at home as we are when hard sacrifices are required outside the home? Do we willingly walk the inconvenient road of selflessness when public eyes aren’t on us? That’s integrity!

How are we doing, friends? Integrity is obviously a humbling responsibility to say the least! However, God has designed this duty with great reward. Let’s see what Psalm 119:1-3 promises...

“Joyful are people of integrity, who follow the instructions of the Lord. Joyful are those who obey His laws and search for Him with all their hearts. They do not compromise with evil, and they walk only in His paths.”

God is clearly teaching us that we can count on a unique kind of joy and strength that can come only from lives of integrity. It’s the joy of freedom from worry. We have nothing to fear because we have nothing to hide! We never have to be anxious or stressed about losing our peace of mind for fear of being “found out” that we aren’t quite the same people at all times. Rather, we can celebrate being consistent wholes in our walks AND our talks and be known as strong, steady, reliable and joyful individuals in all facets of our lives.

What a gift to live and to breathe the joy and strength of integrity! Let’s claim it as our own, friends, and never forget...

Joyful and strong are we of integrity!
